Blue Origin Student Payload Opportunity
2018-19 FSGC Blue Origin Student Payload Opportunity (BOSPO)
Sponsored by the NASA Florida Space Grant Consortium (FSGC)
The NASA Florida Space Grant Consortium (NASA FSGC), in collaboration with the Florida Space Institute (FSI), is releasing this FSGC Blue Origin Student Payload Opportunity (BOSPO) to solicit proposals from FSGC affiliated Florida universities to develop a student-led Project Team that will fly a science and/or technology payload relevant to NASA strategic goals and objectives on a suborbital reusable launch vehicle (Blue Origin).
The cost cap for an investigation awarded by FSGC is $1K. The launch cost for the Blue Origin payload will be covered by FSGC. Funding by FSGC may be supplemented with contributions by the implementing institution (no limit). The selected projects must be launch-ready within 8 months of project initiation.
FSGC expects to select 3 projects for implementation, subject to available funding. The launch/flight services are provided by FSGC at no cost to the project
The two goals of this BOSPO are:
- To provide a hands-on flight project experience to enhance the science, technical, leadership, and project skills for the selected undergraduate student team.
- To fly a science and/or technology investigation relevant to NASA and FSGC strategic goals and objectives on a suborbital-class platform.
